LITTLE KNOWN FACTS, EPISODE 1: VIETNAM IS PRETTY MUCH WHERE ALL SAYINGS COME FROM, A SEVEN PART HISTORY by DAN WEAVER

PART I: Far ago, in ancient times all known cliches were conceived and scribed on
scrolls in Vietnam.

PART II: Tragically, the scrolls were destroyed during a bloody conflict in that land sometime during the late 20th century.

PART III: Luckily the cliches have been carried on through word of mouth and stronger, less ancient scrolls.

PART IV: However, many neofascist Canadians have organized an effort to dispute the origin of the sayings, claiming them as their own.

PART V: As a veil of credibility, the Canadians have several nefarious scholars on their payroll.

PART VI: If the ancient scrolls were still intact, honor would be returned to the Vietnamese people, who are, by the way, a humble people.

PART VII: Legend has it that some of these original scrolls remain undamaged, hidden away deep in the jungle, guarded by a clan of monks.

Go to the zoo because do you know what? There are lions there. Do you know what else? They are fucking lazy but also mean as shit. And they have flies on them, in their fur and around their heads. But that doesn’t seem to phase them. Not really at all. The people staring at them do not seem to phase them either, not even the fat ones or the ones in zebra costumes. The zookeeper with the taser, he phases them, but they keep cool because they know that one day they will tear him apart and eat him. They are patient. One of them has huge balls.

Every morning this dude runs. He does it to not be fat and to buy the sweet gear that runners have. Reflective and tight and a lot of times too small (the shorts have built-in underwear I think— if they don’t they should). This dude decides one day that he’s really unhappy and that he also wants to be on TV. He decides that he is going to run something like a shit load of distance as a path to both serenity and TV-stardom. He will train. He will eat oatmeal and shit oatmeal. He will swim (because it’s better for you than running). He will do this for maybe like 17 days then he will be ready.
